Crumb Terms of Use

The short version: Crumb is a subscription for your household. Your recipes are yours. Use it for your own cooking, be decent to the people you share it with, and remember that Crumb helps you organise food — it can't guarantee what's safe for you to eat.
1 · Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Crumb you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13. If you're setting up a household, you agree on behalf of the people you invite to the extent you're adding information about them.
2 · Households and members
- A household is a shared space with one library, plan, lists and kitchen. It has one owner (whoever created it) and up to 8 members in total. Guests you tag for attendance don't count.
- Members see and can edit everything in the household. Each recipe shows who added it.
- The owner can invite and remove members. Any member can leave. Leaving or being removed doesn't delete your account, and you may keep a personal copy of recipes you added.
- A household is meant for people who genuinely plan, shop and cook together. Sharing one subscription across unrelated households isn't allowed.
3 · Plans, trial and payment

- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms; we can't issue refunds directly. Australian Consumer Law rights aren't affected.
- Offer and promo codes are redeemed through Apple and are subject to the offer's own conditions. Complimentary access we grant can be withdrawn if these terms are breached.
- If a paid plan lapses, your household drops to the Free plan. Your data stays; recipes beyond the 30 most recently added or cooked are locked until you upgrade.
4 · Your content
- You own what you add. You give us a licence to store, sync, display and process your recipes, photos, plans and notes solely to run Crumb for you and your household.
- Imported recipes. Saving a recipe from a website or photo is for your personal, household use. You're responsible for making sure you're entitled to save it. Crumb stores the source address with imported recipes; please respect the original author.
- Sharing. You may send individual recipes to other Crumb users where the app allows. Bulk export of the recipe library isn't offered.
- Household content survives you. If you leave a household or delete your account, recipes you added remain in that household's library (attributed to a removed member) unless you remove them first.
5 · Food safety and dietary information — please read
Crumb is an organiser, not a dietitian. Diet tags, allergen indications, "vegan versions", ingredient swaps, scaled quantities, unit conversions and pantry amounts are entered or generated in your household and may be wrong. Always check ingredients and labels yourself, especially for allergies and medical diets.
Leftovers and made-ahead food. Crumb records when food was cooked and stored so you can use things in order. It does not tell you whether food is still safe to eat — that's your judgement.
Timers. Cook-mode timers depend on your device and notification settings and may not fire (for example if notifications are off, the device is silenced, or the battery dies). Don't rely on them for anything where a missed alert could cause harm.
6 · Acceptable use
Don't use Crumb to store unlawful content, to harass people you share a household with, to add people's information you have no reasonable basis to hold, to reverse-engineer or scrape the service, or to circumvent plan limits. We may suspend accounts that do.
7 · Availability and changes
Crumb works offline and syncs when connected. We aim for reliable service but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or retire features; if we retire something that matters to how you use Crumb, we'll give reasonable notice in the app.
8 · Ending things
You can delete your account in Settings at any time (14-day grace period). We may close accounts that breach these terms. On closure, sections 4, 5, 9 and 10 continue to apply.
9 · Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on dietary, allergen, scaling, timer or food-storage information in the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Crumb in the 12 months before the claim.
10 · General
These terms are governed by the laws of [State], Australia. If we update them materially we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect. If any part is unenforceable the rest still applies. Questions: hello@crumb-app.com.
